Sophie Cachia sets the record straight on baby daddy rumours after revealing surprise pregnancy

The businesswoman has responded to speculation her ex-husband, former AFL player Jaryd Cachia, is the father of her unborn child.

Melbourne influencer Sophie Cachia is hitting back at “wild” public speculation that her ex-husband is the father of her unborn child.

The businesswoman, who announced on social media in July that she was expecting her third child, took to Instagram on Tuesday to clear up the scuttlebutt.

Already mum to son Bobby and daughter Florence, Cachia said she wasn’t prepared for the onslaught of questions about whether former AFL player Jaryd Cachia was the father.

“Do you know many people having kids with their ex 6 years after separation lol??” Cachia, 33, said in a lengthy response to a follower’s question.

“Just because we have an amicable family relationship co-parenting our amazing B & F, doesn’t mean we’re making more babies together.

“Leave him & his personal life out.”

Public intrigue about her surprise pregnancy was expected, she conceded.

“I knew I’d face questions & intrigue, that’s totally fine and perhaps one day when I’m ready I will discuss everything,” Cachia wrote.

Cachia was married to the father of her two children from 2015 to 2019 before she went through a period of “self-discovery” where she realised was attracted to women.

An engagement to basketballer Maddie Garrick later followed but the pair split in late 2022. Most recently Cachia dated AFLW player Sophie Van De Heuvel but their romance reportedly came to an end earlier this year.

Cachia previously opened up to the Herald Sun in January 2023 about her desire for another child, revealing that she had explored sperm donation during her romance with Garrick.

“Pretty much now I’m at the top of the list. To get so close and then have that (split) happen, it not only affects my relationship but it affects my future being a mum as well,” she said.

“It’s such a big process to go through now for it to be taken away from me.

“I can make my own choices but it’s scary too. I love love and I love falling in love, I love sharing my life with someone. But at the same time I would love to have one, two, three more babies.
