Global sensation Olivia Rodrigo has been sighted on a trendy street in Melbourne’s inner north.
The 21 year-old pop star has arrived in town ahead of four shows at Rod Laver Arena.
She was filmed on Peel St in Collingwood on Monday afternoon with a fan asking her what’s your advice for an aspiring artist.
“Just make stuff every day, just keep going right until you have good quality,’’ Rodrigo said in the post uploaded to TikTok.
Aspiring pop and dance singer/songwriter Bianca Camiolo, 22, filmed the exchange.
“She was with her bodyguard and was shopping in a store called Swop,’’ Bianca said. “My mum has got a cafe around the corner and my friends were there and called me saying they think she’s there. Lo and behold it was her and she said to the security guard I’m going to go out. You could tell she was tired but she stopped for a photo and the advice for me was more than enough. We got lucky, she was cool.”
A video also surfaced on social media of her arriving at Melbourne Airport.
The Vampire singer will take to the stage on Wednesday night to continue her sold out GUTS World Tour.
She just came from the Philippines where she shared that the profits from her ticket sales there in Manila would be donated to nonprofit Jhpiego. The global organization, an affiliate with Johns Hopkins University, helps provide health care to women and girls in the Philippines.
“It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. to say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it!” Rodrigo posted on Instagram. Her father is Filipino.
Previously, while on the US leg of her tour, Rodrigo partnered with the National Network of Abortion Funds and then with the Women’s Shelters Canada during her Canadian stops.
