Jimmy Bartel’s touching tribute to baby daughter Paloma Lucie Bartel

Footy star Jimmy Bartel and partner Amelia Shepperd have shared their joy at welcoming a baby girl.

Former footy star Jimmy Bartel has welcomed a baby girl with partner Amelia Shepperd.

Bartel, who has two sons Aston and Henley with ex-wife Nadia Bartel, posted a touching tribute and picture of the newborn on Tuesday night.

“Daddy’s little girl is here,” Bartel wrote.

“Paloma Lucie Bartel, you have me wrapped around your little fingers already. @milly_shepperd I’m in awe of you. Love you so much. Aston and Henley will love you so much.”

Geelong great Bartel, now a commentator with 3AW and Channel 9, said in February that he was excited but also petrified of expanding his family.

“My two older sisters, they only have boys. This is my mum’s 11th grandchild and this is the first girl,” he said.

“A few things are going through my head, well how do I do their hair.

“So, I am a bit scared to be honest.”

Bartel and Shepperd, who used to work in Queensland as an executive assistant, first went public in December 2021 but have kept a low profile.

They celebrated their one-year anniversary together last August and announced they were expecting in October.

“Baby Bartel, you’re already so incredibly loved,” he commented on a video of the couple’s baby gender reveal party.

Brownlow Medallist Bartel split from Nadia in 2019, which made front page headlines. She has moved on with model and fitness expert Peter Dugmore and they continue to co-parent their children.
