‘It didn’t end the way I’d hoped’: Brodie Ryan on her split with Nathan Buckley

Brodie Ryan has revealed the pain of her break-up with footy great Nathan Buckley but says her life is now “a little more stress-free with a little less pressure and less responsibility”.

Brodie Ryan has revealed she’s moving on and mending a broken heart after her relationship with footy great Nathan Buckley ended three months ago.

“The first few months were hard, and break-ups are always horrible,’’ the 36-year-old told the Herald Sun.

“It’s sad it came to an end, but we’re both going to be OK. I hope he finds happiness, and I hope I find happiness and what I deserve, too.

“I’m just resuming my normal life – a little more stress-free with a little less pressure and less responsibility.

“I wanted that responsibility and revelled in that of being a housewife and a little family’s support, but unfortunately it didn’t end the way I’d hoped.

“Time heals all wounds. The heartbreak is real, but we’ll both be OK.”

Ryan, who dated Collingwood legend Buckley, 52, for three years, is the face of The Emerson’s new One Night Saturdays, by Vinny Disco and Rodrigo Yohanna, with a winter fashion runway event taking place on June 28.

The invitation-only event represents more opportunities that Ryan hopes to be involved with.

“I was never my intention and never my plan, and I’ve always lived a pretty private life,’’ Ryan said.

“But now I have an understanding that you can have both. I will be entertaining more opportunities than I did before and making myself available.

“I’m open to it (finding love), but at the moment I’m just focusing on me and reconnecting with myself.”
