Footy legend Don Scott is sporting nine stitches above his eye after an accident while getting into his car.
Scott was meeting underworld figure Mick Gatto for a meal and suffered the deep gash while moving the car into a driveway.
“I went around to our friend Mr Michael, Domenic Gatto, for something to eat,’’ Scott said.
“(His wife) Cheryle cooked a nice meal.
“I was getting into the car … it was before lunch.
“I was already there we were putting the car in the driveway.
“I’m on blood thinners … it’s like turning on the tap when you cut yourself.”
Scott, 73, still fronted for his weekly podcast, You Cannot Be Serious, with Sam Newman and Rod Law. Law described Scott’s injury as a “piece of flesh hanging off his head”.
In May Scott had a stent inserted into his chest for a blocked artery.
He suffered severe heart pains and was rushed to hospital on the Mornington Peninsula by fellow footy champion Bernie Quinlan.
It caused him to miss the wake for Newman’s wife Amanda Brown who suddenly passed away on May 1 in their Docklands apartment.
