Police have arrested seven youths and man at a Gold Coast resort over a stolen Honda Civic, seemingly after the group revealed their location on social media.
Police took the group into custody at Mantra Circle on Cavill on Ferny Ave, Surfers Paradise, at 8.30am, a spokeswoman said.
A dramatic scene on Ferny Avenue on Thursday showed the teens taken into custody, including in a paddy wagon.
A teen told a 7News Gold Coast reporter at the scene he “didn’t do it bro”.

The youth, in red short shorts and a Gant sweater, said 7News Gold Coast: “Mate, I haven’t even stolen no car I don’t know what you’re on about. Mate, I’m going to the watchhouse for something I didn’t even do bro.”
A Seven reporter asked another teen if they “liked stealing cars” - the teen said “no comment mate”.
A female teen was escorted into an awaiting police car and threw up gang signs before being driven away.
A white 2019 model Honda was taken during the burglary of an Aniseed Crescent home at Griffin between 1am-8am on Tuesday.
The teens posted to social media, it’s understood, leading police to the resort where they were about a kilometre from the Surfers Paradise police headquarters.
At 8.30am on Thursday, police received information about suspected stolen property at a unit near Circle on Cavill.
Police will allege they located keys to a stolen Honda Civic plus a stolen handbag and keys to another vehicle yet to be identified.
Police located 13 people at the unit, taking one 18-year-old man and seven juveniles into custody.
