An alleged bikie associate accused of stabbing Levi Johnson about a year before he was killed in Brisbane has had his case delayed.

Dallas Morgan is charged with wounding Mr Johnson and his friend Nathan Meagher outside a Biggera Waters unit on October 30 last year.

Morgan, an alleged associate of the Mongols gang, has previously claimed in the Southport Magistrates Court that he acted in self defence as the pair had been trying to set the unit on fire.

Mr Johnson and Meagher were both accused of being associates of the Comancheros motorcycle gang, the court has previously been told.

Mr Johnson was allegedly murdered in a broad daylight attack in Brisbane on September 12.

Morgan is not accused of being involved in Mr Johnson’s death.

About a week prior to Mr Johnson’s death, charges against him including attempted arson and dangerous conduct with a weapon, were dropped after prosecution offered no evidence.

No plea had been entered.

On Wednesday, Morgan was set to face a committal hearing in Southport Magistrates Court for the wounding of Mr Johnson and Mr Meagher.

Magistrate Janice Crawford said the courts were a magistrate down and unable to hear the matter on Wednesday.

She adjourned the matter to October 7 for a review and scheduled a committal hearing for November 9.

Defence lawyer Michael Gatenby flagged that the case may change by the time the committal hearing was reached.

“It’s a very tenuous prosecution case,” he said.

“One of the complainants has now passed away and there is some prospect of it not proceeding.

“This is one of those ones where there is no complainant statement with arguably clear self defence.”

It is not the first time Morgan’s case has been delayed.

In August the scheduled committal hearing was adjourned after police failed to subpoena two of the three witnesses to appear in court.
