Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in relation to the shooting of a 19-year-old man at Helensvale in January.

They are calling on 34-year-old Moorooka man Daniel Todd to contact them.

Police have appealed to anyone who may know the man’s whereabouts, or has information related to the shooting, to come forward.

Gold Coast Police Detective Inspector Chris Ahearn said the teen was driving a stolen white Skoda when he met a man, believed to be in his 30s, in a car park at the Helensvale Plaza shopping centre about 6.20pm.

Det Insp Ahearn said the pair, who know each other, exchanged words and the older man pulled out a sawn-off rifle.

“The victim has immediately turned and began to run and has heard a gunshot a short time later,” he said

“He has felt that he had been shot in the elbow and he’s fallen to the ground there.”

The 19-year-old Oxenford man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

It will be alleged the shooter fled the scene in a White Nissan Qashqai, which has since been recovered.

Police urge anyone who sights Daniel to not approach him and call Triple 0 immediately.

Break and enters - Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane

Detectives are appealing for information after the theft of a vehicle and later break and enter offences at the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane’s bayside suburbs last month.

Police said a red 2014 Volkswagen Polo was stolen from a Light St address at Springwood in the early hours of February 15.

Investigations indicated the vehicle was used in a series of property crime offences in the Gold Coast, Logan and Bayside areas between February 17 and February 19 where items including medication and tobacco products were stolen.

About 1.45am on Friday February 17, police said three people used tools to gain entry to a business on New Cleveland Rd at Gumdale.

There, the group unsuccessfully attempted to break into a safe, before stealing it.

No one was physically injured during any of the incidents.

Police have appealed to anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

There has been a fresh appeal for information after a suspicious telecommunications tower fire in northern NSW last year.

Police and emergency services were called to River Terrace, Mullumbimby about 3am on Friday 18 March 2022, following reports the top section of the tower was on fire.

A crime scene was established after Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

Detectives from Tweed/Byron Police District released CCTV footage of a person they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The person is depicted as wearing shorts, a hooded jumper, thongs and appears to be carrying a bulky object.

Anyone who can identify the person, or who may have any other information, is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police want to speak to this man after a can of spray paint was stolen from a Burleigh Heads auto-shop on February 9.

About 2.30pm, a man attended the Reedy Creek Rd store and concealed a $45 can of spray pant down his pants.

When confronted by staff, the man fled.

A Benowa supermarket has been fleeced of $270 worth of groceries before the culprit fled in a getaway car.

Police want to speak to this man after the incident happened about 8am on January 21.

They said a man attended the Ross St store and filled a trolley with meat and food items.

He then walked the stolen haul out of the entry-gates to a waiting car in the side alleyway.

An employee managed to retrieve some of the items that had not yet been loaded into the car before it fled.

On January 10 about 6.50pm, a man attended the Gold Coast Highway store and selected three adult toys valued at around $510.

He then left the store, making no attempt to pay.

A thirsty thief stole a can of rum from a Broadbeach liquor store on January 13.

Police want to speak to this man after the incident.

Around 8.50pm, a man attended the Main Place store where he selected a $7 can of Bundaberg rum and cola and concealed it in his pocket.

He then left the store, making no attempt to pay.

Police want to speak to this man after a power tool was stolen from a Mermaid Waters hardware store on January 11.

Around 1.30pm, a man attended the Bermuda Street store where he selected a $240 Ryobi grinder.

He then concealed it in his backpack before leaving the store, making no attempt to pay.

Police want to speak to these women after $845 worth of items were stolen from a Mermaid Waters hardware store on January 17.

About 4.30pm, two women entered the Bermuda St business, allegedly filled a trolley with expensive items and fled through a rear exit door.

An employee intervened and managed to retrieve most of the items, but the women fled with a safe valued around $111.

A book thief fled a department store after concealing four titles in her bag.

Police want to speak to this woman after the incident at a Helensvale department store on January 17.

About 1.30pm, a woman attended the Milaroo Dr store and allegedly concealed four books, valued at $120, under her clothing and in her bag.

The woman then attended the register where she purchased a $2 confectionary item, but police say she failed to pay for the books.

Upon exiting the store, an employee requested to check her bag but the woman refused and fled.

Police are appealing to the public for information about a hit and run traffic crash at Clear Island Waters last year.

On November 12, Robina Parkway was closed due to a triathlon event starting early the next morning.

Signage and barriers had been installed to advertise the road’s closure.

Just before midnight, a white utility travelled through the barriers and collided with several expensive racing bikes, causing damage.

The ute’s left-side mirror was damaged, and the driver fled south.

The vehicle was described as two door, with a trayback with sides, black wheels with no hub caps, broken left brake-light and appeared to be lowered.

About 2.35pm, police said a man entered the store and put the $30 t-shirt down his pants.

He refused to give it back when staff approached him and left the store without paying.

Police want to speak to this woman after $200 worth of garments were damaged at a Broadbeach Waters department store on January 23.

About noon, a woman attended the store and took underwear, bras, socks, makeup, accessories and a tote bag into the change room.

The woman damaged the items and concealed them in the bag which she left in the change room, accidentally leaving her mobile phone in the bag also.

When the woman returned to retrieve her phone, she was instructed she would need to pay for the damaged items, however her bank card did not work at the register.

She told staff she would go to the bank and return but failed to do so.

Theft - Surfers Paradise

Police want to speak to this man about mail stolen from a Surfers Paradise unit complex on Christmas Day last year.

CCTV showed an alleged thief at the Panorama Towers unit complex at 1.30am on Christmas Day, rifling through mailboxes.

The CCTV showed a similar looking man return about 7.30am.

Mail was later reported missing from the complex.

Police have released a photo of a woman who may be able to help with investigations into the assault of a pregnant woman at Surfers Paradise in December.

About 1.50pm on Friday December 30, a 37-year-old Bosley Park woman was waiting in a queue at an indoor games arcade on Cavill Avenue with her husband and two children, when the assault occurred.

An unknown woman punched the 37-year-old seven times to the head before a witness intervened and pulled her off.

The 37-year-old, who is five-months pregnant, received serious facial injuries resulting in dental surgery.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the woman, or who has any information in relation to this assault, to come forward.

Detectives investigating a suspicious fire at a Helensvale business want to speak to two men who may be able to help with investigations.

About 10.45pm on January 3, a trio allegedly used bats to break the windows of a Siganto Dr premises, before a fire was lit.

It was alleged the men then fled in a white vehicle which was driven south along Siganto Dr and continued north along the M1.

The men were described as having dark complexions and all had their faces concealed.

One man was wearing a light and dark blue patterned buttoned short sleeved shirt with black ripped jeans and bright red running shoes.

A second man was wearing a black hoodie and black pants with a white T-shirt beneath and black dress shoes.

The third man was wearing a grey hoodie with black shorts. He had black hair.

Police urge anyone with information on the incident to come forward. Only one of the men allegedly involved has been charged.

About 11.30pm on December 4, a man gained access to the Bright Ave complex’s secure carpark carrying bolt-cutters.

The man then stole a number of items before leaving.

About 4.30pm, a 54-year-old man momentarily left his $300 Samsung A23 on a ledge at the checkout.

Another man stole the phone from the ledge and exited the store moments later, making no attempt to hand it in or find the owner.

Police want to speak to this man as part of investigations into $16,500 worth of jewellery stolen from a Robina store on December 19.

Just before 2pm, a man entered the Robina Town Centre Dr store and asked to view a necklace and bracelet.

Police said the man then allegedly fled the store with both items of jewellery, while a number of bystanders chased after him.

The bracelet was found at a nearby pet store and returned to the jewellery store.

The necklace is still missing.

Police said he allegedly waited until the exit was clear and left without making any attempt to pay for the item.

About 11.15am, a man attended the Kortum Dr store and selected a pair of hand pliers valued around $78.

The man then allegedly removed the tag and left the store, making no attempt to pay for the item.
