Marcelo Silvestre moved to the Gold Coast so he could feel safe but one night leaving his car on one of the cities’ poshest streets he no longer feels that way.

The Brazilian, who has lived on the Gold Coast for almost four years, stayed at a mate’s on Saturday night – leaving his Tesla parked on Hedges Ave near where Mermaid Waters and Broadbeach meet.

Hedges Ave, is also known as Millionaire’s Row, and has some of the city’s most expensive beachside properties.

Mr Silvestre was shocked when he came out to his car on Sunday morning to find his wing mirror had been broken.

Mr Silvestre when checked the footage from his car which was in “sentry” mode.

At about 1.30am on Sunday a man dressed in jeans and a light coloured shirt approached the car and then without warning, kicks the vehicle.

He then kicks the vehicle and runs off when the Tesla’s lights start flashing.

That is not the only time the car would capture misdeeds on that night.

About an hour later at about 2.30am, a man dressed in dark pants and light colour t-shirt is caught going from car to car, checking the doors handles to see if they were open.

All of the doors were locked.

Mr Silvestre described the whole incident as “so frustrating”.

“It’s getting concerning,” he said.

“They don’t do anything or get punished they are going to keep doing it.

“(Not feeling safe) is why I left my country.

“The same will happen here.”

Mr Silvestre said his car is usually locked up in his garage at night and was blown away that he captured this after just one night on the street.

“We are not safe here the way we used to be,” he said.

“It is hard because it happens because they are unpunished.”

Mr Silvestre said he came forward because he wanted to warn others of the dangers and to be on the look out.

The videos come in a week where luxury cars had been targeted.

Police are investigating the incidents.

People are being urged to remember to lock their doors and secure their property.

On Tuesday a Maserati was allegedly stolen from a Helensvale home before being crashed in Logan.

Early on Good Friday morning a Palm Beach couple captured thieves taking an Alfa Romeo from their drive.
