The Gold Coast’s hottest property market in 30 years has seen some incredible sales. Meet the brothers who sold more than $1.8bn of property in a single year.

Below, we introduce 20 of the Gold Coast’s top real estate agents.

The PRD Burleigh Heads director’s firm has notched up plenty of prominent sales in the past two years.

He made national headlines last year with the Coast’s second highest ranked record sale of 2021.

The five-bedroom house on Tallebudgera Creek Rd also made the national top 10 list of suburbs where a new high sale price was set in 2021. It went for $5m in March 2021 – up 92 per cent from the suburb’s previous high sale.

The Canford Estate Agents principal is no stranger to big-money deals, having secured contracts with some of the city’s most prominent figures.

In 2021 he sold the former Mermaid Beach cinema site for $16m to developer Jim Raptis and made the $22m sale of the Surfers Paradise Bowls Club site once owned by Mayor Tom Tate.

He also represented several major Chinese developers who hold large property interests on the Gold Coast, including Songcheng who hoped to build a controversial theme park at Carrara.

The former Savills partner now heads up new agency Republik which opened in January.

Having been involved in several high-profile sales over the past decade, he scored a win in February when the firm sold all 33 apartments in the $33m Southport development Waverley Residences which will be built on a $1.75 million site in Waverley St.

The Paradise Point-based Phillis Real Estate Queensland continues to make waves in the property industry, selling everything from Sovereign Island mansions to the family home of rugby star James O’Connor. He also sold Gold Coast nightclub player Tony Rigas’ Ashmore home for $2.25m in early 2022.

16: Chris Moyer

A Sovereign Islands specialist, Mr Moyer of The Professionals Vertullo Real Estate, had an impressive 2021, scoring more than $100m in sales in a single year.

The most notable sale was the former mansion home of convicted money launderer Michael Issakidis to billionaire Clive Palmer for more than $4m.

A key player in the Gold Coast real estate scene for nearly 40 years, First National Surfers Paradise kingpin Bob Rollington is patriarch of a property dynasty, with both his sons Rob and Russell joining him in the family business.

Among the key sales the firm handled in the past year was Mayor Tom Tate’s long-term Surfers Paradise holiday apartment which sold for $850,000.

14: Matt Gates

One of Ray White Surfers Paradise Group’s brightest stars, Mr Gates has been working in the industry for more than 18 years and continues to pick up high-profile listings, including former world number one golfer Adam Scott’s five-bedroom Sanctuary Cove house.

He is the son of Deputy Mayor Donna Gates and together with wife Chelsea – daughter of Ray White Surfers Paradise director Andrew Bell – forms one of the Coast’s power couples.

13: Jayde Pezet

Mr Pezet has sold units in some of the biggest tower projects of the past decade, including the Star Residences in Broadbeach and Sunland’s Magnoli in Palm Beach. Fresh from rebranding his firm KM Sales and Marketing as Pezet Matheson, this agent continues to pick up big contracts including S & S Projects’ Awaken Residences at Point Danger.

12: Malan Brothers

Brothers Tiger, Conner and Jared head up the Ray White Burleigh Group with their father, Larry and are among several of the city’s multi-generational sales dynasties.

The firm sold more than 430 properties in 2021 and is today among the biggest in the city.

11: Nick Clydsdale

The CBRE Residential Projects director began his career in Sydney before coming to the Gold Coast in early 2015.

Highly regarded for his work, he won the Queensland Professional of the Year award at the agency’s State Achievement awards in 2020.

The Kollosche residential agent is a specialist in the southern Gold Coast market and has been linked to some of the biggest sales in the region.

Earlier this month he auctioned a double block on Palm Beach’s Jefferson Lane for $13.51 million.

9: Mark Witheriff and Tania Moore

One of the Gold Coast real estate sector’s most prominent dynamic duos, Mr Witheriff and Ms Moore are key players in the industry, focused on commercial sales and leasing. Back with CBRE after a seven-year stint at Knight Frank, the pair are experts in the field and respected for their knowledge of the sector.

8: Steven King

The Colliers Gold Coast boss has the ear of some of the city’s most powerful figures and has been tasked with several significant sales.

In the past six weeks alone he’s taken on the Gold Coast City Council’s controversial sale of the Bruce Bishop carpark in Surfers Paradise and billionaire Leda Holdings boss Bob Ell’s Kao Farm at Pimpama.

7: Luke and Andrew Henderson

The Hendersons are the kings of Mermaid Beach.

The family has had a lock on the suburb since their late father established John Henderson Professionals Mermaid Beach 50 years ago.

Today, the pair continue to deal in multimillion-dollar properties throughout the suburb while Andrew, the agency’s principal, also holds the position of REIQ Gold Coast zone chairman.

The founder and boss of Lucy Cole Prestige Properties has carved out a significant niche in the Gold Coast’s real estate scene across more than 20 years in business.

Ms Cole, who has previously harboured political ambitions in local government, remains one of the industry’s most respected figures and was last year tasked with selling the luxury Sheraton Mirage penthouse of leading architect Desmond Brooks, who designed the Christopher Skase-created hotel.

5: Tolemy Stevens

A high-profile agent from Harcourts Coastal, Mr Stevens was the auctioneer behind one of the Gold Coast biggest property sales.

In May 2021 he auctioned the 73rd-storey luxury penthouse of Surfers Paradise’s Soul tower for a record-breaking $15.25m.

He continues to be highly sought-after for his sales nous, having been one of the agents tasked with listing an Ashmore mansion owned by Culture Kings co-founding queen Tahnee Beard.

4: Amir Mian

The Amir Prestige principal remains one of the Gold Coast’s key property figures

His firm has been behind some significant sales in recent years including a four-level Isle of Capri mansion which sold for $5.7m last month, a $15.9m sale on Albatross Ave in Mermaid Beach and $8.4m sale of a Commodore Dr site in Paradise Waters

He recently listed a small Hedges Ave property once dubbed by singer Diana Ross “the best little beach house in the world”.

3: Michael Kollosche

The Gold Coast luxury property king, Mr Kollosche’s Broadbeach-based firm rode the booming 2021 property market to a sales record of $1.8bn.

The firm, which solely focuses on properties valued above $1.5m, is already having a bumper year in 2022 and has been linked with several high-profile sales.

In 2021 he transacted the highest total value of residential property in Queensland, with total sales of $530m in unconditional deals, with verified sales sitting at $426m.

Earlier this month, Mr Kollosche received the coveted selling principal of the year award at the Australasian Real Estate Results Awards, while Kollosche was named boutique agency of the year and digital excellence agency of the year.

Recent high-profile sales include a $14.5m off-market deal on a new designer beach pad on Hedges Avenue in January, and the $14.5m sale of a main river mansion on Monaco Street,

In late 2021 Kollosche established a Community Fund, with a percentage from every property sale contributing to a fundraising goal of $500,000 in 2022, with significant funds already donated to a string of local charities, organisations, and sponsorships.

It continues Mr Kollosche’s hot run after making one the Gold Coast’s greatest business comebacks after disappearing from the selling scene for six years between 2010 and 2016.

2 Andrew and Greg Bell

The Bell brothers head Ray White Surfers Paradise Group and are among the most influential figures in the sector and city at large.

The group sold more than 2327 properties for a total of $1.8bn in 2021 and are already recording strong figures for 2022.

Andrew and Greg Bell have been property stalwarts for more than 30 years and continued to dominate the field with leading auction The Event (auctioning more than 100 properties in one sitting), as well as high-profile charity work through the annual Ray White ball which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for Muscular Dystrophy Queensland.

1: Dane Atherton

In a year where the Gold Coast property market reached new heights, Harcourts Coastal, headed by managing director Dane Atherton, had a particularly big year.

The firm, which deals with a broad spectrum of properties from one-bedroom apartments to luxury mansions, sold more than $2.5bn on property in 2021 amid a 31 per cent growth in the market.

And 2022 has had a booming start, with Harcourts already selling more than $600m, since January 1, averaging around $200m a month with a clearance rate above 90 per cent.
