GOLD COAST BREWER DELIVERS A PECULIAR COLOURED BEER THAT PACKS A PUNCH
More than 37 craft brewers will be serving up 200 plus beers and ciders at Kurrawa Park on Saturday in a celebration of the art of brewing.
Among those flying the flag, or tapping the keg, for the Gold Coast will be Lost Palms from Miami.
Marketing Manager Zak Nalder said the brewery had been busy developing five brews for the festival which would show Lost Palms’ diversity.
“This will be our second year at the festival so we wanted to come up with new batches which we hope will cater to all tastes,” Nadler said.

“This event will allow us to present our latest addition to our core range, Gold Coast Bitter which is a crisp, clean, low carb lager at 4.5 per cent and one which we think typifies the Coast. It will be available in cans after the festival at various sites in the city.
“Other brews we have been working on include a smoked maple porter at 6.5 per cent, a summer pale ale in an XPA style at 4.5 per cent, a mid strength summer ale called 300 Days of Sunshine (in reference to the amount of sunny days on the GC) at 3 per cent and a sour made from finger limes and saltbush at 3.8 per cent.”

Nalder said there had been a noticeable rise in sour beers among craft brewers with a growing percentage of women enjoying them.
“I think one of the reasons why sours are proving to be popular among female drinkers is that they don’t have the typical beer characteristic, they aren’t sweet but are very refreshing and easy to drink,” he said.
“We will have four of our special festival brews available in draught only but due to the demand of pour core products, we are looking to expand and update our brewery at Miami.
“Our focus is to be able to service the Gold Coast and get more of our packaged product out to independent outlets and craft beer bars.”
Joining Lost Palms will be fellow local brewers, Black Hops, Burleigh Brewing, Balter, Currumbin Valley Brewing, Stone & Wood, Fortitude and Yo Yogi.
