An alleged Mongols national office holder posed for photos and video with other accused bikies, including Harley Barbaro, despite being banned from contacting them, a court has been told.

Tyrone Wilton Noman Poole is alleged to have repeatedly met up with Barbaro and another accused bikie Todd Barnes at a baby shower in February last year, a private gym two months later, and at a barber shop opening in August 2020.

Poole pleaded not guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court in November last year to habitually consorting with Barbaro and Barnes.

It is alleged Poole met up or contacted Barbaro more than 70 times from April 24, 2020 to February 21, 2021.

Poole was given a warning notice telling him he could not consort with Barbaro or Barnes under state consorting laws targeted at stopping organised crime, the court was told.

On the second day of the trial on Tuesday, the court was played a short video of a group of men posing up for a group photo.

Detective Senior Constable Peter Wilmot said the photo was taken outside a private gym in an industrial shed in Biggera Waters in April 2020. He said that Poole, Barbaro and Barnes were all in that video.

“I know that people approved by the Mongols can train at the gym,” he told the court.

Det Sen Const Wilmot denied any knowledge of women and children training at the gym.

The police officer told the court he had nine years’ experience with the bikie-busting Taskforce Maxima.

He was questioned about the wearing of Mongols colours, logos and jewellery.

“I am yet to see any member of the community or have any knowledge of a member of the community wearing a Mongols-sanctioned item other than a Mongols member,” Det Sen Const Wilmot said.

In November, the court was played CCTV footage that allegedly showed Poole at a baby shower for Barbaro’s partner, Hayley Webb, in the weeks leading up to the birth of their first child.

When police seized Barbaro’s phone in March last year they also found 69 text messages sent between the pair in four days in June last year, the court was also told.

It is also alleged Poole met with Barnes at the gym on three occasions in January.

The trial will resume on March 21
