Smith, 32, pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.

Smith claims she was “provoked” and not in a good headspace.

The single mum, who represented herself, provided the court a letter from her counsellor.

Magistrate John McInnes placed Smith on probation for six months and ordered she pay $500 in compensation. No conviction was recorded.
