PALM Beach landmark The Collective will be redeveloped to become a luxury, five-star hotel.
Businessman Paul Gedoun’s S & S Projects has unveiled its plans for the Gold Coast Highway site it bought last month for $4m.
Mr Gedoun said the project had been designed to “meet strong demand for high-quality, short-stay holiday accommodation” at Palm Beach.
“This project is being designed to set a new standard for the Gold Coast hospitality market,” he said.
“The venue and atmosphere will be vibrant and energetic from the ground floor cafe and wine bar, all the way to the rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar.”
Mr Gedoun said S & S Projects was in talks with The Collective dining and entertainment precinct about becoming part of the new development.
The company has begun community consultation before it lodges a development application with council.
“We’re very cognisant of the need to get feedback from the Palm Beach community before we proceed with our plans for the site,” Mr Gedoun said.
“Once we have collated this information we will move toward a development application with the council.”
The Collective co-owner Craig Shearer said in September he looked forward to speaking with Mr Gedoun.
The development will be the company’s fourth on the southern Gold Coast to be unveiled in the past year.
S & S Projects is behind the under-construction $74m Flow Residences, the mixed-used Esprit tower which is before council and the luxury $46m Awaken Residences which is replacing the now-closed cafe D-Bar.
