The famous developer behind what will be one of Australia’s tallest towers has revealed when the first residents will move in - before it’s even finished.
Meriton boss “high-rise” Harry Triguboff has also fast-tracked release of units on the upper levels of his under-construction 76-storey Ocean supertower.
The 87-year-old said sales had remained strong despite the economic downturn.
“We’ve just been gnawing away at sales on the lower floors but don’t have too many left in the larger layouts,” he said.
“Suddenly some people we can’t satisfy want to go higher so we’ve finalised floor plans and we’re ready to oblige them.
“After nearly 60 years as a developer, I’m very pragmatic. If buyers want something you don’t dilly-dally – you give it to them.”
Mr Triguboff said Ocean’s first residents could move in before Christmas despite works still being completed on upper levels.
Construction of the tower reach has reached level 28. A Meriton Suites hotel in its first 32 levels could be trading by July 2021, a year before construction is expected to finished.
The 161 new apartments, between, levels 58 and 72 will go on the market later this year, as well as the sub-penthouse and two super penthouses.
