An audacious plot to shoot dead a gangster outside a police station in the heart of the city has led to the colourful underworld figure surrounding himself around the clock with four burly bodyguards.

Andre Kallita, a Comanchero bikie with close links to slain “Mr Big” Alen Moradian, was allegedly the target of a shocking conspiracy to murder him over Christmas and New Year last year, after a bounty was put on his head by underworld rivals.

Episode four of The War II: Kill or be Killed reveals incredible new details about the alleged conspiracy to murder Kallita, following the arrests of cousins Sulaiman Ahmad, 18, and Azam El-Mohamad, 31.

It also captures amazing footage of Kallita leaving Parramatta District Court chaperoned by bodyguards, before getting into a personal security convoy of luxury cars worth in excess of $1 million.

While having personal security is not allowed without a valid reason, police sources said Kallita had told them the men were there to protect a $1 million watch on his wrist.

Police sources said one location Kallita’s would-be killers did surveillance on him was at Day Street Police Station — sandwiched in between Sussex St and Harbour St, two of the busiest roads in the whole of Sydney’s CBD.

“To think that they were [allegedly] considering doing a hit there, outside Day Street, it’s scary,” one source said.

Court documents outline how Ahmad and El-Mohamad allegedly began plotting the assassination on Christmas Day last year.

Instead of sending his cousin a “Merry Christmas” message, at 8.42pm on December 25, police allege Ahmad instead messaged his older relative asking: “I need a driver for Wednesday. You make 100,000. Come see me if you’re serious. Car’s ready”.

When El-Mohamad replied saying he knew a woman who could do the job, Ahmad outlined why that would not work — stating the job was a “hit”, slang for an assassination.

Ahmad: “Nah no girl, it’s for a hit”.

El-Mohamad: “Okay but is the bloke getting got for good or just touched up a bit?”

Ahmad: “Got”

On Boxing Day the two cousins allegedly messaged again, with Ahmad asking El-Mohamad if he would be open to playing the role of shooter.

Ahmad: “You down to shoot? You’ll be paid $400,000 maybe an extra $50,000, so $450,000 all up”.

El-Mohamad: “Yeah I’m down to shoot bro, I prefer that then driving”.

A day later on December 27, the pair allegedly kept discussing the murder plot with El-Mohamad questioning whether he would definitely be paid the large sum of money for the job.

Ahmad: “[I swear on] your mum’s life bro. You’re my cousin, I’ll make sure I’m not f**king around this not the first time”.

El-Mohamad: “If I pop him and he doesn’t die but he gets f**ked up do we still get paid?”

Ahmad: “Nah, depends how bad. They want him gone”.

On the evening of December 28 police allege Ahmad text El-Mohamad telling him the shooting was planned for the next day, before dropping off a Glock pistol for him to use.

It was about 10.30am on December 29 — the day of the shooting was allegedly set for — when El-Mohamad took a taxi to Wellington St in Waterloo.

There he allegedly asked the taxi driver to wait outside a set of housing commission flats, known for a “high prevalence of drug related crime”, while he quickly ran inside.

Unbeknownst to him, two police officers from the local area were patrolling the area and having seen El-Mohamad allegedly run in and out of the building, assumed a drug deal had gone down.

The officers pulled over the taxi and allegedly found a backpack belonging to El-Mohamad, inside which was two guns, a balaclava, gloves and two mobile phones.

As the officers pulled these items out of the backpack, El-Mohamad allegedly tried to run away.

Caught a short time later, he was charged with possessing the guns and breaching a Firearm Prohibitions Order (FPO), before detectives went through his mobile phones — at which point they allegedly discovered the plot to kill Kallita.

Both Ahmad and El-Mohamad were charged with conspiracy to murder, and participating in a criminal group, and remain behind bars on remand.

Kallita has been a central figure in The Daily Telegraph’s mini docu-series The War II: Kill or be Killed.

On top of the alleged plot to kill him, police allege he is also a central figure in the dispute which led to a feud between Alen Moradian and his close friend, who due to a court order, can only be referred to as “AA”.

It was this feud that allegedly resulted in Moradian being shot dead in Bondi Junction on June 27 last year.
