An unknown small-time drug dealer who rose through the ranks of the Sydney underworld was allegedly mentioned in a dispute that led to the murder of Comanchero bikie boss Alen Moradian.

Police claim Andre Kallita, who now has a contract on his life, had become a senior member of the Comanchero when his close friend Moradian was shot in an underground carpark at Bondi Junction last July, igniting a feud between the Comanchero gang and the Haouchar crime family.

The 31-year-old Kallita, known for his love of exotic motor vehicles, hit the headlines when he crashed a $500,000 white Lamborghini while being pursued by police at Green Valley in Sydney’s west on September 4, 2022, with the public at the time more interested in the car he wrote off than the man behind the wheel.

In the underworld he was simply known as “Andre” but more came to light when court documents revealed he was allegedly mentioned in a conversation about a debt that sparked a feud between Moradian and another alleged underworld figure who can only be referred to as AA.

It’s alleged the night after Moradian was killed, AA had a conversation with an unnamed associate questioning why Moradian did not pay a debt owed to another party.

“What about the money he (Moradian) made, the c***sucker,” the associate said.

“And never once did he say, ‘bro, I’m just going to sort this problem out and pay the debt’.

“No, f***ing Andre (Kallita) has to do it, or (why didn’t he say) take a lump sum and give them five hundred, give them a mil(lion).”

Police also claim AA and Moradian were friends before an alleged falling out.

The same court documents state how in response, AA allegedly said: “That’s right, you want to back up the problem, fix it, you lend him (Andre) and then let him pay.”

On September 20 last year, AA was arrested and charged with being the mastermind of Moradian’s murder.

Three others have also been charged in connection with the murder, including the alleged triggerman.

There is no suggestion that Kallita, from Cecil Hills, is involved in the murder of Moradian or knew what the debt was that the other two were talking about.

In January, NSW police said they had arrested two men involved in a plot to kill Kallita where the shooter was to receive at least $400,000.

“We will allege one was to be the shooter and the other was involved in taking up a contract to murder a target,” Detective Superintendent Peter Faux, head of the NSW Organised crime Squad, said.

“His role was co-ordinating others such as drivers and vehicles to be used in the murder.”

Two semiautomatic Glock pistols were seized by police which they claim were to be used in shooting Kallita who was told hours before the alleged hit was to be carried out.

Although Kallita is listed as living in Cecil Hills he was known to be living in the city and taking extreme precautions at the time over the alleged plot to kill him, including employing a personal security detail.

Underworld sources have said it’s common knowledge Kallita believed the hit on him was worth around $2m in total – including the price of guns, stolen cars and the paying of accomplices.

In 2015, Kallita was sentenced to more than four years in jail for supply and possession of drugs.

Last year, he was sentenced to two years and four months’ jail relating to the car chase where he crashed the Lamborghini.

He was granted bail pending an appeal to be heard on March 19.
