Penrith Westfield: Mini golf, retro arcade opening first western Sydney stores

A retro themed games arcade and bar is soon to call Penrith home, along with a licensed mini golf course as part of a $33m revamp of Westfield Penrith, which will also include several new restaurants, and grocery stores.

Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Holey Moley are bringing their wildly popular brand of game-based fun to western Sydney for the first time, opening their doors on December 16.

At Holey Moley guests will be able to putt-putt their way around eighteen themed holes, some based on the Penrith area.

At Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq players can step into a 80s themed gaming arcade complete with a bowling alley and bar serving up bespoke cocktails.

Jensen McDougal, operations manager at FunLab, the parent company of Archie Brothers and Holey Moley, says Penrith was the perfect place in western Sydney to launch their “leisure-tainment” venue.

“Penrith is a hub of activity and we want to bring guests an unparalleled day or night out without them having to travel all the way into the CBD.” he said

‘There’s a lot of fun to be had under one roof, both with family and friends.”

The one-stop shop for entertainment will live at Riley St, which will be given a neon style makeover featuring luminous lights and games will officially begin on December 16 when doors open.

Opening up from next Wednesday will be a new and improved Coles supermarket, complete with a deli and bakery section, as well as a Liquorland rebranded in an elegant black and white fit-out.

Visitors will have ample dinner options to choose from with Schezuan eatery No 1 Malatang, Chinese restaurant Smiling Dumpling and Noodles, and Thai Tae also being added into the mix.

Group Centre Manager of Westfield Penrith, Matilde Princiotta said Westfield is “thrilled” with the new additions which will “further boost the region’s thriving entertainment and nightlife scene”.
