Man on cannabis, ice and cocaine charges after drug raid on Cromer home

A DRIVER’S day ended in drugs charges, after cops on Sydney’s northern beaches allege they found ice and cocaine in the man’s car and a cache of cannabis and cash at his home.

FOUR kilograms of cannabis, 12g of cocaine and nearly 12g of ice were allegedly seized during a raid on a home at Cromer on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation by local police into the supply and distribution of drugs on the northern beaches.

Northern Beaches crime manager Insp Craig Wonders said members of the Northern Beaches proactive crime team pulled over a driver on Warringah Rd at Beacon Hill on Wednesday and searched his car.

They allegedly found quantities of cocaine, ice and cannabis in the car.

The proactive crime team then executed a search warrant at the man’s home in Carrington Ave at Cromer, where they allegedly found about 4kg of cannabis and a sum of cash.

The 42-year-old man was interviewed and subsequently charged with a total of six offences, including supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and of being in possession of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Insp Wonders said the arrest as part of an ongoing investigation by local police into the manufacture, distribution and supply of drugs on the northern beaches.

“We will continue to focus on identifying people involved in drug supply on the northern beaches and this will continue to be one of the local area command’s priorities,” he said.
