For Channel V host Carissa Walford looks to land role in LA after buying Sydney unit
FORMER Channel V host Carissa Walford, who has interviewed the likes of Justin Bieber and One Direction, has just bought a Sydney unit — but Tinseltown is still on the cards.

SHE might be trying to land a job in LA, but TV host Carissa Walford wants to call the northern beaches home.
The former Channel V presenter and Sydney It girl, who’s interviewed A-listers including Justin Bieber and One Direction, has bought a unit close to Dee Why beach, and even reckons the peninsula is better than her old haunt of Bondi.
Walford, 28, who’s originally from western Sydney, can often be spotted on the beaches with boyfriend, filmmaker Luke Farquhar.
Long Reef, Bungan beach and Bower Point are her favourite spots, while one day she wants to live at A-list favourite, Palm Beach.
“I love the northern beaches, I always have,” she said.
“The east is great but there’s just something I connect with this side. I come here at least once a week — and the surf’s better.
“I was able to afford something around here, and I’ve made money already.”
She went over in January but so far she said she hasn’t been snapped up.
“I’m trying to get a job, doing what I do here, hosting in music or fashion,” she said. “There’s so many different channels out there. I really want to sink my teeth in.
“I’ve had a bunch of meetings. Americans are really positive — they’re all about bringing you up- almost leading you on a little bit, but in a great way, because you feel really good about yourself. It gives you that motivation and gets you inspired to keep going.”
And, while she’s not working the LA red carpet yet, she’s done plenty of celeb spotting.
“I saw Taylor Swift at Chateau Marmont. She just walked in. I was going to go up to her but I though no. I just sat and observed,” she said.
Walford’s also an ambassador for sick kids charity, Starlight, and will be involved in Starlight Day on May 6. The day aims to help raise $1.3 million to support more than 33,000 seriously ill children and their families around Australia.
She said it’s a huge honour to visit the kids at hospital Starlight Rooms at Randwick and Westmead hospitals.
“They can forget about everything they’re going through,” she said.
A flick through Walford’s Instagram page reveals a glam life packed with designer frocks and glamorous selfies.
But Walford, who trains daily at F45 gym, reckons it’s not all glamour wear and celebrity lifestyle.
She also loves getting around in her activewear and is having laser treatment on her skin to combat spots and scarring.
The self-confessed make-up junkie said her Tom Ford Shade and illuminate palette is her latest must-have.
And, despite posting selfies with A-listers from Amy Schumer to Kelly Osbourne, she said she doesn’t really have any celeb friends, except model Bambi Northwood Blyth.
“My best friend is Samantha Jade’s publicist, and I have a lot of make-up artist friends too,” she said.
