Party In The Park organiser Paul Chesher said he had hired one of the best security companies in the country to reinforce the festival’s crackdown on drugs.

The event is expected to see a crowd of at least 3000 people descend on Pittwater Rugby Park in Warriewood tomorrow from 1pm.

“There will be guards at the gate, bag checks, ID checks as well as a police presence in and around the ground,” Mr Chesher said.

There will also be two police dogs patrolling the grounds.

When asked if he was concerned of any serious incidents following recent fatalities at similar music events, Mr Chesher said he was confident that things would run smoothly. “I’m very happy with the way we’ve put our plans in place and we've got a very thorough process of making sure that nothing happens,” he said.

Mr Chesher said the team had also been working very closely with police.

“All I can say is that we’ve had various meetings, we’ve got security management plans and everyone is ready and prepared,” he said.

Would-be fence jumpers are also being urged to think twice, with measures in place to police the illegal act.

Mr Chesher said fence jumping would not be tolerated at Saturday’s event.

“We have a fencing system in place to stop people from jumping over,” he said.

“There’s also a security system inside the grounds so we want to tell people not to think they can jump the fence because it’s not going to work.”

Ten rock and electronic music acts will play at the festival, including headline act Ball Park Music and The Jungle Giants.

Tickets will be available at the gate from 1pm.
