The nightmare summer along NSW’s beaches and waterways continues with yet another death on Tuesday afternoon on the Mid-North Coast.

It has been a deadly summer season with 12 lives already lost in just two months including a father who drowned trying to save his daughter from a rip at Black Head about 25km north of Forster.

The recent drowning of a man in his 50s was reported at Delicate Nobby, just south of Crescent Head on Tuesday.

Just after 5pm, emergency services were called to the beach after reports an unconscious man had been pulled from the water.

Members of the public performed CPR until the police and paramedics arrived, however the man died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a Queensland man in his 50s.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
