Accused Harrington Park fraudster barred from nearby suburbs

An accused fraudster has been barred from entering select suburbs after a court heard police investigating illegal drug supply seized over $112,000 from an Oran Park house.

An accused fraudster has been barred from entering select nearby suburbs after a court heard police investigating illegal drug supply seized over $112,000 and multiple mobile phones from an Oran Park house.

Matthew Mezaric, 31, was arrested in Oran Park on Friday following an investigation into drug supply in the Camden area.

A search warrant was executed at a house in Madden St, Oran Park on Friday morning where police located and seized more than $112,000 cash, cocaine, multiple mobile phones, and a number of fraudulent drivers licences and credit cards.

Mezaric, of Harrington Park, was charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime, drug possession and dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.

The 31-year-old, who had been in custody since Friday, appeared by audiovisual link at Campbelltown Local Court this morning and waved to family members as his lawyer applied for strict conditional bail.

Bail was unopposed by police.

The Magistrate ordered Mezaric to report daily to police, live with his mum and her partner at their Harrington Park home, not go near Pantheon Finance or use encrypted mobile apps including Whatsapp and Wickr.

He has been barred from entering Oran Park and Middleton Grange with a $20,000 surety placed by his mum.

The matter will return to Campbelltown Local Court on July 22.
