A suspended neonatal nurse from a southwest Sydney hospital is accused of forcing a child to urinate into her mouth and committing multiple indecent assaults against a child as young as four.
The 39-year-old Leumeah woman, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, is facing seven historical child abuse charges for offences allegedly occurring between 2004 and 2008.
The Liverpool Hospital nurse appeared in Campbelltown Local Court last week accompanied by her husband, where the Director of Public Prosecutions finalised the charges against her.
The neonatal nurse was arrested and charged by police on October 31 last year.
The charges include three counts of indecently assaulting a child under 10 and four counts of inciting a child to commit indecent acts.
During this same period, in the neighbouring suburb of Ruse, the woman is accused of sexually touching a child’s genitalia and forcing a child to urinate into her mouth between 2005 and 2006.
Additional disturbing allegations include the woman masturbating in front of a child.
Court documents further allege she incited a child to touch her breasts and genitalia, and made a child masturbate in her presence between June 2005 and April 2008.
Throughout the court proceedings, the woman remained stoic as Magistrate Peter Thompson read out the alleged offences, responding briefly when asked if she understood the charges.
The matter is scheduled to return to Campbelltown Local Court in July.
