An alleged child groomer has secured a bid to reduce the number of times he needs to report to police, while he faces charges including sexually touching a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions.
Charbel Nakad, 20, fronted Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday facing charges including intentionally sexually touching a child, inciting a child to participate in sexual touching, procuring a child for unlawful sexual activity, and two counts of stalking or intimidation.
The court heard an application to cut Nakad’s police reporting requirements down to once a week, change his address from a house in Raby to Minchinbury and which police station he would report to.
The alleged child sex offender’s family also attended court to support him, with his parents putting up $20,000 in surety as part of his previous bail agreement which was granted in December.
The prosecutor was initially opposed to the reduction of the number of times Nakad needed to report to police, which had already been cut from daily visits to three times a week.
But after some discussion, Magistrate Peter Thompson approved the changes.
Nakad is set to relocate from Sydney’s southwest to live in Minchinbury near Mt Druitt and report once a week to Mt Druitt Police Station.
His matter is expected to return to Campbelltown Local Court on June 4.
