Erskineville: Alleged domestic violence stabbing, woman taken to hospital

A woman and a dog have been left with stab wounds following an alleged domestic violence incident in Sydney’s inner west.
About 2.50am on Thursday, emergency services were called to a unit block on Swanson St, Erskineville following reports of the incident.
Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene a short time later to find a 27-year-old woman with a laceration to her hand and a dog with a cut to its body, but it was not deemed life threatening.
The woman was taken by paramedics to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment, while police took the dog to a vet hospital to be assessed.
A 34-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to hospital under police guard.
Investigations into the alleged offence has been established with a crime scene set out by officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command.
