Popular reality TV show Farmer Wants a Wife is returning to Aussie screens – and a lady or fella’ from Kyogle could be next in line to find love.

Applications have opened for single farmers and potential partners for the upcoming season of the Channel 7 show, and all eyes are on Kyogle.

A few Kyogle women are tossing up if they will run as a farmer seeking a husband, while blokes in flannels are also tossing their hat in the ring.

Producer Katie Baker said she had family living in Kyogle – a northern agricultural hub – and she would love to see the town represented.

She urged residents to get involved.

Kyogle-based comedian Odette Nettleton, who has appeared on shows including The Chase and Hard Quiz, posted in the Kyogle (the friendly town & villages) Facebook group about the new season – and the community was abuzz.

“Imagine a Kyogle farmer finding love on the telly!” she exclaimed.

Ms Baker reached out to the community to spread the message.

Mates were tagging each other to “get amongst it”, pushing for applications, while many young ladies expressed their interest in nabbing a hunky primary producer.

Len Solcum wrote: “A mate who’s been on (the show) said it was the best thing he’s ever done for his confidence.”

“If you are female 25-40 and into cows and farms say hi,” he said.

Ms Nettleton said it was a “hoot reading the comments”.

“Especially mates dobbing each other in,” she said.

“We live in a beautiful place and anyone would be lucky to fall in love with someone from Kyogle country.”
