Body of missing Maclean man John Parkes found

The body of a missing man, along with a vehicle, have been found in the Clarence River.

The body of a man who was reported missing in the Clarence Valley region has been found.

John Parkes was last seen leaving his Maclean home about 6am on Monday, October 11.

He was driving a silver Subaru XV sedan with NSW registration plates BDX 38X.

The 75-year-old was reported missing last week, triggering a search.

Several searches were conducted on land and in the Clarence River at Maclean in the following days.

A police spokesman said police divers found the missing Subaru in the Clarence River about 10.50am on Tuesday and Mr Parkes was inside.

The vehicle was removed and towed for forensic testing.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
