Police and family hold grave concerns for a man missing from the Clarence Valley town of Maclean.
John Parkes was last seen leaving his Maclean home in a silver Subaru XV sedan about 6am on Monday.
Family members reported him missing later that day, and officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District started inquiries into his whereabouts.
Officers then conducted extensive land searches for the 75-year-old in Maclean on Tuesday and searches of the Clarence River along Yamba and River Roads, but neither he nor his vehicle were located.
Marine Area Command and police divers will assist with a further search of the Clarence River on Wednesday.
Police and family hold grave concerns for his welfare due to his age and medical conditions.
Mr Parkes is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 165cm to 170cm tall, of a thin build, grey hair, with no facial hair and blue eyes.
He is known to frequent many locations in the Maclean area and anyone who may have seen Mr Parkes or his silver Subaru XV sedan with registration BDX 38X is urged to contact police.
