More evidence was submitted at the 11th hour for a Grafton man facing a maximum ten years in prison for possessing child abuse images and videos.

A Grafton man found in possession of thousands of child abuse images and 500 videos has had further submissions made to the court on his behalf.

Dale Jerel Rixon, faced Grafton court for sentencing on May 11 after pleading guilty to two charges of possessing child abuse images and possessing a prohibited drug.

Rixon faces a maximum sentence of 10 years for two charges of child abuse images.

Rixon’s solicitor Anne-Alece Johnston told the court she wished to submit further material.

“In the interests of justice I want to make further submissions,” Ms Johnston said.

The court also heard from Magistrate Kathy Crittenden that further video evidence had been submitted.

Ms Crittenden agreed to the further submissions from Ms Johnston and adjourned sentencing till May 24.

In previous court proceedings Ms Johnston has maintained that her client only downloaded the images and they were not distributed or shared on the internet.
