POLICE are still working through DNA evidence obtained after a Gold Coast mum-of-three was set on fire in her backyard, a court was told.

The large amount of evidence means the matter will not return to court for another three months.

Police allege Beenleigh mum grabbed officer’s crotch and spits at face

A Beenleigh mother accused of grabbing a police officer by the crotch and spitting on their face has been granted bail after being ordered to submit to a disease test.

Nadia Renee Singh appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court charged with the serious assault of a police officer and obstructing police on Wednesday.

Judge baffled after it took police 10 years between interviewing abuse victim and conviction

A JUDGE says he is baffled by the fact police took 10 years between interviewing a child sex victim and then bringing the repeat offender to justice.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, masturbated in front of three children, gave two girls sex toys and watched pornography with the children while in his Labrador home in 1993.

A PIMPAMA family has been dealt a cruel, double blow after $5000 of fishing gear was stolen while their daughter was recovering in an intensive care unit.

A medical centre worker netted $10,000 by claiming the Medicare rebates of almost 100 patients.

But Sonya Mariee Whitestyles claims she was just doing as her boss had told her.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday to two counts of obtaining financial advantage for herself.

GOLD Coast influencer Troy ‘Candy’ Williams has documented an alleged robbery on his Instagram page and says more needs to be done to stop troubled teens.

The self-proclaimed entrepreneur, dubbed Candyman 2.0, posted a series of videos on his Instagram story on Tuesday about the alleged robbery to his 165k followers.

A FORMER international Muay Thai fighter left a 57-year-old woman with a broken wrist and punched her daughter in the face during a late-night fight.

Gold Coast: New data shows thousands of complaints filed against Queensland cops

ABOUT 12 complaints are being made against police every day.

Data shows 4363 complaints were made against Queensland Police Service ­officers in 2018-19, up from 3411 in 2014-15.

About a third (1478) of those 2018-19 complaints resulted in further action, while 2885 were either dismissed or did not lead to ongoing investigations or sanctions against officers.

Man tried to run from police after allegedly stealing mail from Southport complex

A GOLD Coast man stopped for allegedly stealing mail punched a police officer three times in the face as the tried to get away.

Dramatic body camera footage of the incident obtained by the Bulletin shows Shaun Christopher Michael calmly talking to police officers before suddenly getting up and running.

Kyle Lance Mansfield apologises for setting fire to home and boat two years ago

A FORMER Gold Coast man who set fire to an Ashmore home, stole a boat and then torched it said “we all make mistakes” and admitted there was no reason for the blazes.

Kyle Lance Mansfield says he does not know who graffitied the words “that’s for f***ing my wife” on the side of the home around the time of the fires.
