AFTER retreating to her family home to lick her wounds, serial heartbreak victim Sam Frost made a return to Sydney’s social scene at yesterday’s Autumn Racing launch.
The inaugural Bachelorette, Frost suffered an extremely high-profile relationship breakdown with ex-partner Sasha Mielczarek in December, followed by the news that her radio show with Rove McManus was also axed in early January.
Speaking exclusively to Confidential yesterday at her first public appearance since the news broke, Frost confessed she had been keeping a deliberately low profile.
“I’ve been at home in Melbourne, I spent a good two months at home with my family. I was just hiding and spending really quality time getting back to myself and my roots.
“I was just getting back with the people who I love and have loved me unconditionally. So that’s where I’ve been hiding,” she laughed.
Admitting that 2016 was an extremely difficult period for her, the former reality star said she was pleased the clock had ticked over into 2017.

“I’m feeling really good about 2017. I think nothing but good things are going to happen,” she said. “I have my fingers crossed, because you have to have that attitude. You have to dust your knees off and keep going. That’s the attitude I’m bringing into this year.”
While losing her lucrative breakfast radio gig was definitely a blow, Frost is looking for the positives.
“My work schedule last year was so busy and now it’s quite good because it’s more flexible. I’m hoping to head to as many race days as possible.”
Her comments come after her former beau spilt all in what is believed to have been a paid interview with a weekly magazine. “Distance was mainly the reason,” he told the publication.
“Sam would get up early for 2DayFM breakfast show … and I couldn’t really talk to her till about midday and by that stage I was at work. Not being able to talk to Sam during the day was tough for me.”
