The first official racing carnival featuring the new $46.6 million WINX stand at Randwick Racecourse kicks off this Saturday, complete with bars, DJs and an open air terrace.
Model Ksenija Lukich is among those on the VIP guest list for of Australian Turf Club at The Star Championships Day 1 — and she’s excited to get dressed up again after being stuck at home for so long.
Lukich has spent the last 12 months breastfeeding, changing nappies and adjusting to motherhood after welcoming her first child with husband Dan Bragg last year.
And now the couple will finally get to have a day off.
“I’m really looking forward to Saturday because we actually haven’t been on a date in a while, we haven’t had time for just the two of us,” she said.
“We’ve got my mother-in-law doing the babysitting and we will have a really nice day on the track.
“It’ll be so good to get back out there. I feel like everybody has been sort of stuck inside for so long that it’s just really nice to be out celebrating and having a good time with friends and just enjoying ourselves.”
The former E! Australia presenter gave birth to a baby girl named Mimi one year ago and said motherhood had been life-changing.
“It’s been amazing. I mean obviously pretty overwhelming and busy and all the regular stuff but it’s been just really special watching her grow,” she said.
The couple, who have been married for five years, ditched tradition by giving Mimi both of their last names.
“I think it’s nice to have a little nod to both, a lot of people will say the same,” she said, adding that she also chose not to take Bragg’s last name when they got married.
“For me, my surname is a connection to my (Serbian) heritage and to my family and it’s really nice for Mimi to be able to have a little bit of that.”
