Billy Bowes

Bowes is simply fantastic one-on-one, a competitor who has a brilliant contested mark. Bowes can play key positions, and is someone with a physical presence, but also high footy IQ.

Jack Leary

Leary is a small forward who rarely loses a one-on-one contest in defence. He is highly dependable for Noosa.

Mt Gravatt

Kyne McDonald and Isaac Solomon

McDonald is a real in and under player, a noted hard ball winner. His sidekick, Solomon, attacks the footy and “always puts his body on the line every game’’, according to his coach David Greenaway.

Seth Coombs

Coombs, attacks the footy like no other, winning the contested possession Coombs’ sole focus is the footy regardless of the numbers going for the ball. “And not many are able to top his run,’’ said his coach David Greenaway.

Palm Beach Currumbin

Tom Grimster and Hugh Munro:

Palm Beach Currumbin have this dynamic duo driving them onwards this season. “They both love the contest and never take a backward step,’’ said PBC coach Glen Clark. Both boys are fit as a fiddle types with a surf life saving background, Grimster a northern NSW junior and Munro a Coast kid.

Maroochydore

Max Prendergast

A a small forward, Prendergast shows superior roving ability around the goals. “He rarely misses when he gets an opportunity,’’ coach Jason McDonald said. “He is light on his feet and often turns the opposition inside out and uses clean hands to set up his teammates.’’

Labrador

Leo Johnston

Johnston wins his own footy, and is hard and tough at the contest. He rarely loses a contest and works hard off the ball. Every team would love six like him.

Broadbeach

Cooper Wilkinson

Wilkinson always makes a contest and is rarely beaten. He has earned great respect from his peers and will put his body on the line.

Jake Pitcher and Lachlan O’Dwuer: Pitcher applies manic pressure in the front half of the field while O’Dwyer does both jobs winning 50-50 balls, while also creating a lot of runs.

Ryan Lewis

Lewis, according to his coach Darren Fazldeen, is an “absolute beast’’ in the midfield. He is a great competitor who loves competing for the hard ball and rarely gets beaten. “He also has elite skills,’’ Fazldeen said.

Surfers Paradise

Lucas Snowball

A under 17 listed player, Lucas Snowball is showing the competition that while he is one of the smallest players in the competition, what he lacks in height he makes up for in heart. “He’s an extremely hard worker on and off the field, always the first to arrive and the last to leave,’’ said coach Alistair Mitchell.

“He is a sponge always wanting to learn more and to improve which is a great quality in a young football.’’

Snowball is driven by a desire to not only perform for Surfers, but get back into the Suns Academy.

Morningside

Tom Southon

What a beauty this bloke is. Every Saturday morning he gets in and under in the contests and is selfless with his efforts.

Bailey Burrows

Small forward Burrows is a younger player that lives up to his name and burrows in for the hard ball, while also applying relentless tackle pressure.

Harrison Sala

Sala is a solid midfield player that has great game sense and awareness. “He uses the ball well and is a profile ball winner around the stoppages,’’ said his coach Brian Zutt.

“He uses his body and attacks each contest with only eyes for the ball,’’ said Magpies coach Ben Janeke-Cain. “He is relentless to either win the football or force a stoppage.’’

Wilson is like an angry old cattle dog - who in the case of Morningside, is a hungry Panther on the chase. He loves a contest and does his best when surrounded by opponents. He delivers the ball on a platter.
