A used car yard on one of Brisbane’s busiest roads is set to be transformed with a fast-food restaurant, service station and drive-thru coffee shop.

Construction is set to start on the 1329 Logan Rd, Mount Gravatt site, which currently houses Mount Gravatt Mazda’s second-hand vehicle sales yard, by the end of October, the developer confirmed to the Southern Star.

The site, which also includes adjoining plots on Creighton St, Prelate Ln and High St, will be home to a new Hungry Jack's restaurant and drive-thru Zaraffas Coffee Shop in addition to the 7-Eleven service station.

Access to the site would be via crossovers on High St, Creighton St and Logan Rd, with no exit from the latter crossover.

The site would contained 36 carparking spaces across the three tenancies.

All approvals have now been granted and construction is expected to wrap up in the second quarter of 2022, the developer said.

An existing bus stop on Logan Rd would be relocated slightly to the north.

The installation of a Hungry Jack’s restaurant would continue apace the fast-food colonisation of Brisbane’s southside.

A few kilometres down the road towards Logan, KFC Eight Mile Plains has been frying since April 19.

Meanwhile, KFC also has designs on Montezuma’s Mount Gravatt, with a DA approved to transform the shop.
