KFC Eight Mile Plains opening day confirmed

A new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Brisbane’s southside will throw open its doors tomorrow, creating 54 new jobs for locals, the company has confirmed.
The opening of KFC Eight Mile Plains at 2433 Logan Rd comes amid a fast food renaissance for the fast-growing outer-south region, with a Hungry Jack’s and Guzman y Gomez both slated to open by the end of the year in adjacent Rochedale.
In a statement, KFC Australia owner Collins Foods Limited confirmed the restaurant would open at 10am Monday, April 19, and would operate seven days a week between the hours of 10am – 10pm.
The restaurant will be staffed by 54 employees, who will be given “opportunities for the team to develop customer service and teamwork skills and boost their self-confidence.”
“The training and on-the-job experience provides young Australians with the life skills to help them succeed, both in and beyond their career at KFC,” the statement continued.
Inaugural KFC Eight Mile Plains general manager Hayden Donohue, a company veteran of more than 13 years, said the new team had “already been training behind the scenes to get the restaurant up and running”.
“We are very excited to be opening our doors and providing our delicious chicken to familiar local faces,” Mr Donohue said.
Mr Donohue’s offsider, Natasha Padgett, is stepping up to the plate from her role as second assistant at KFC Sunnybank, and has worked across multiple KFC’s in a three-year career.
As well as “state-of-the-art digital menu boards, Click & Collect and contactless pick-ups via orders through the KFC app, and a speedy drive-thru service”, KFC Eight Mile Plains will also be available through delivery partners Menulog, Deliveroo and DoorDash.
