A bayside man and his five associates who were charged after a 12-month police operation which uncovered distribution of cocaine, meth, heroine and restricted drugs have been identified.
Operation Tango Eel targeted the distribution of cocaine and methylamphetamine from a number of properties and vehicles searched across the region.
Redlands police officers seized 1.1kg of cocaine, 1.1kg of methylamphetamine, 263g of MDMA, $22,166 in cash and a 2017 BMW M4 as part of the operation.
Detectives from Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) charged nine people for 52 offences as part of the operation.
Cleveland resident, Lucio Giovanni Caso, 21, was one of the 12 people charged.
Mr Caso appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court today, October 6, on four counts of drug trafficking and one count of breaching bail conditions.
His lawyer, Caprice Gobie-Smith, said they were waiting on outstanding evidence to be prepared.
“The brief is also outstanding on this matter,” Ms Gobie-Smith said.
Wellington Point resident, Aimee Louise Freeman, 44, also appeared today represented by her lawyer, Natasha Shorter, on one charge of possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 or exceeding schedule 4 and two counts of trafficking dangerous drugs.
Ms Shorter also appeared on behalf of Thornlands resident, Marcello Parades Garcia, 42, on two counts of possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 or exceeding schedule 4 and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
“It is a large trafficking matter your honour,” Ms Shorter said.
Wellington Point resident, Reagan Gaine Freeman, 47, appeared in the court today as well on 11 charges, including possessing drug utensils, possessing dangerous drugs, four counts of possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 or exceeding schedule 4 quantity, possessing items used in the commission of a crime, breaching bail conditions, unlawful possession of a relevant substance, and three counts of trafficking dangerous drugs.
Alexandra Hills resident, Korey James Murphy, 21, appeared on three charges of trafficking dangerous drugs, one charge of possessing restricted drugs and one charge of possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.
Mr Murphy was represented by his lawyer, John Wilson.
All five accused were granted bail and were due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on October 17.
Birkdale resident, Tully James Theodore Davies, 23, was another one of the nine charged in Operation Tango Eel.
He pleaded guilty in Cleveland Magistrates Court on September 13, to three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of possessing S4, S8 (restricted) medicines.
Mr Davies was placed on a good behaviour bond for 12 months and ordered to participate in the Drug Addiction and Recovery Team Program (DART).
Convictions were not recorded.
