A bayside man has faced court on alleged drug trafficking charges believed to be linked to a mass drug network across Redlands and greater Brisbane.

Alexandra Hills resident, Korey James Murphy, 21, appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court Thursday, September 15, on three charges of trafficking dangerous drugs, one charge of possessing restricted drugs and one charge of possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.

It is understood Mr Murphy was charged on August 10 at a Cleveland address and was believed to be one of nine people involved in a 12-month police operation which uncovered a mass distribution of cocaine, meth, heroine and restricted drugs.

Operation Tango Eel targeted the distribution of cocaine and methylamphetamine from a number properties and vehicles searched across the region.

Police seized 1.1kg of cocaine, 1.1kg of methylamphetamine, 263g of MDMA, $22,166 in cash and a 2017 BMW M4 as part of the operation.

Magistrate Deborah Vasta ordered Mr Murphy not to have contact with co-accused people.

“You’d be very wise to follow those bail conditions,” Ms Vasta said.

Mr Murphy was represented in court by his lawyer, John Wilson.

He was granted bail and was due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on October 6.
