A murder case against a man accused of running down another man after a dramatic car chase across Brisbane is waiting on evidence from Audi, a court has heard.

A murder case against a Logan man accused of running down another man after a road rage incident across Brisbane is waiting on information from Germany, a court has heard.

Marsden resident, Umar Hussein Alkahalifa Al Enizi, 21, appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court Wednesday, September 14, charged with one count of murder, one count of failing to remain at the scene and exhibit respect for the deceased, and one count of unlicensed driving.

Troy Edward Vandenberg, 25, died — allegedly after being struck by a white Audi driven by Mr Al Enizi, then 20 — on September 17, 2021.

Mr Al Enizi’s defence representation told the court on Wednesday “there’s outstanding material yet to be disclosed”.

Police prosecution said the case could not move forward until further evidence was gathered.

“We’ve had some real difficulty with this,” the prosecutor said.

“We’ve been trying to get in contact with Audi in Germany.

“We are gathering a final statement from a forensic crash investigator.”

Before Mr Vandenberg was allegedly struck by the Audi, witnesses allegedly saw him get out of his Toyota Camry and throw what appeared to be a hammer or mallet at Mr Al Enizi’s car window, counsel for the Crown, Elise Sargent, told a Supreme Court judge hearing a bail application.

Witnesses saw Mr Al Enizi’s Audi mount a footpath and hit Mr Vandenberg.

It was alleged Mr Al Enizi’s Audi was then deliberately swerved into Mr Vandenberg.

Mr Al Enizi is out on bail after it was granted from Brisbane Supreme court.

He will reappear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 12 for mention.
