Police have revoked a Public Safety Preservation Act declaration following an operation at a Jimboomba home earlier today, which saw local roads shut down.

Specialist police from the Explosive Ordinance Response Team were brought in to assist in identifying items, but police said nothing of concern was located.

Earlier, neighbours watched on as police investigated the Logan property after they shut down roads and evacuated the area this morning while searching for dangerous substances.

Outside the Jimboomba property on Hill St, Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Parsons said they had two people in custody assisting with enquiries.

“The explosion experts certainly have any matters at hand, they are using electronic measures and remote control robots to inspect and assess and make safe the premises,” he said.

“We have a husband and wife presently assisting with police enquiries.

“Police had received information from another agency in relation to suspicious behaviour about residents and there was a need to step forward and investigate the matter on behalf of the community.

“Those enquiries will be ongoing until explosive experts have completed their search and there’s no considerable threat to the community.

“There’s no indication of firearms, bombs or any significant explosives but we have found some small items of interest, some personal devices that are used for protection such as like homemade taser devices.”

A neighbour said it was usually a quiet neighbourhood and they had talked to police.

“They (police) … said they found a substance, they seem to think it might be a drug lab,” said the neighbour.

No charges have been laid.

Police declared the exclusion zone covered South St, Mary St, Bell St, Queen St, North St, East St and John St.
