Wade Kratzman found guilty of common assault
A man who was sensationally handcuffed and dragged back to Caboolture courthouse last week has had a verdict handed down after representing himself in a prison-issued tracksuit.

A landscaper who ran from a Brisbane court before being dragged into custody has finally gone to trial after a courthouse melee last week.
Wade Paul Kratzman was found guilty of the common assault of a Morayfield man on Cabernet Court and obstructing police, during seperate incidents dating back to September last year.
Caboolture Magistrates Court heard the common assault was linked to an incident on September 4, 2019 which saw him waving an operating whipper snipper at a man after a disagreement about Kratzman’s driving.
Kratzman had denied the whipper snipper was on at the time and also denied trying to fight the man when questioned by the prosecution.
“I’d never fight a bloke with a weapon,” Kratzman said.
He was also convicted of obstructing police when they arrived at his home the following day to talk with him about the prior day’s events.
The court heard police had difficulties getting inside Kratzman’s property – fearing a pet dog might attack them – and when Kratzman was ultimately arrested, he would not get into a police car.
Kratzman represented himself during the trial, dressed in a prison-issue green tracksuit and bare feet following his arrest last week at the same courthouse.
He was handcuffed and dragged back into the Caboolture Magistrates Court after trying to make a run for it last Tuesday morning after arriving an hour and a half late to his scheduled hearing.
Because he had already served seven days in custody, Kratzman was convicted and not further punished for the offences.
