A Brisbane high school has been the scene of an alleged attack on a student, which drove members of the public to call police for help.

Police have been called to a Brisbane high school after an alleged attack by students.

According to witnesses, two Forest Lake State High School students allegedly ambushed another student as he departed a bus near the school Friday morning.

It is understood two students allegedly waited for another student to arrive on the bus and then they attacked him.

Two women intervened during the alleged attack and one of the women was knocked to the ground in the scuffle.

A mother at the school, who had been at a nearby doctors surgery saw the aftermath of the disturbance where it was alleged two students starting hitting another student after he got off the bus.

“I was at the doctors and I wondered why the cops were there,” Pam Carstens said.

“Next minute.. another two cop cars came.

“I found the woman (who had been knocked over) and said ‘what the hell happened?’.

“They (the students) had been waiting at the bus stop.”

Witness Jason Waters said he had been at the school gate when attack began.

“The poor kid just got off the bus and they came running over and jumped him at school,” Mr Waters said.

A police spokeswoman confirmed officers had been called to scene but could not provide further details about the matter.

The Queensland Department of Education confirmed it was aware of an incident that took place between two Forest Lake State High School students outside the school about 9am Friday.

“A member of the public witnessed a physical altercation between the students and contacted the school administration and the Queensland Police Service,” a spokesman said.

“A deputy principal from the school went to investigate the scene however the students had moved on and could not be identified from the description given by the member of the public.

“Shortly after officers from the QPS (Queensland Police Service) arrived and spoke with the deputy.

“There was no further involvement from police.

“The students were later identified and dealt with in line with the school’s Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students.

“No further details can be given for privacy reasons.”

No one has been charged in relation to the incident.
