Morayfield GYG given green light by Moreton Bay Regional Council

Construction will soon start on a new Guzman Y Gomez at a busy shopping centre north of Brisbane after council gave it the green light.

Popular burrito restaurant Guzman Y Gomez will open a new venture north of Brisbane after getting the green light from council.

The Mexican food chain will soon add a Morayfield restaurants to its growing number of Moreton Bay stores which include Rothwell, Albany Creek and North Lakes.

An application for a GYG at Warner is also pending with council.

The latest restaurant, which will feature a drive-through, will be built at the Morayfield Super Centre on Morayfield Rd, after being approved mid-September.

It will take away 84 carparks from the shopping centre and be built along the Morayfield Rd side of the centre – near the Subway and Woolworths end.

There will also be an outdoor dining area.

Morayfield Super Centre is anchored by Woolworths and Aldi.

There are multiple big name retailers in the centre including Pet Barn, TK Max, Fantastic Furniture and Spotlight.

Other food outlets include Coffee Club, Subway, an Indian restaurant and a cafe.

A number of other new food ventures have been recently approved and opened in Caboolture and Morayfield including the Taco Bell at Morayfield, Rolld inside Morayfield Shopping Centre, Ozi Pide at Caboolture South and 5 Boroughs.
