Both major parties have promised to put millions towards roads, hospitals, schools and sporting infrastructure in one of Queensland’s most marginal seats this Federal Election.
The seat of Petrie is north of Brisbane and covers suburbs across the Moreton Bay Regional Council and Brisbane City Council areas including; Redcliffe, Deception Bay, Burpengary, North Lakes, Bracken Ridge and Carseldine.

Incumbent LNP MP Luke Howarth has held the seat since 2013.
He was re-elected in 2016 securing 51.65 per cent of votes in the two candidate preferred count over Labor candidate Jacqui Pedersen — a swing of 1.12 per cent.
There are six candidates vying for selection in the seat of Petrie this election.
Mr Howarth and Labor candidate for Petrie Corinne Mulholland have found millions to spend on projects across the region.
Here is a breakdown of the big spend.
LNP election commitments:
■ New paediatric emergency treatment service for the Redcliffe Hospital — $10 million
■ Eight chair chemotherapy unit at Caboolture Hospital
■ New Safe Spaces, as an alternative to hospital emergency departments — $10.5 million
■ Finishing Dolphin Stadium upgrade — $3 million
■ Upgrade Klingner Road & Boardman Road intersection, Kippa-Ring — $4 million
■ Upgrading Beams Road (Lacey Rd to Handford Rd), Carseldine — upgrade — $50 million
■ Upgrading Henry Road-Dohles Rocks Road, Griffin — $4 million
■ Mango Hill State School Hall — $3 million
■ Swimming Pool — at new Mango Hill SHS — $2 million
Labor election commitments
■ $10 million for Redcliffe hospital Emergency Department upgrade
■ $6.2 million for Redcliffe ICU
■ $6 million for new CT scanner at Redcliffe Hospital
■ $100 million to duplicate Linkfield Road overpass
■ $1.5 billion to fix Gateway motorway and Bruce Highway
■ $4 million for Mango Hill Park ‘n’ Ride
■ $3 million for stage three of Dolphins Stadium — delivering 10,000 total seats
■ $120 million for University of Sunshine Coast Moreton Bay campus at Petrie
■ $40 million for new Trades Training TAFE at North Lakes
■ $50,000 for Deception Bay North State School upgrading children’s play area
■ $300,000 Northlakes State College for outdoor spaces
■ $100,000 Bounty Boulevard State to upgrade outdoor facilities and help assist
delivery of agricultural and horticultural programs at the college.
■ $71,000 Clontarf Beach State high school for STEM program, learning spaces
and equipment
■ $20,000 Aspley Special School to purchase and installation of a liberty swing
■ $3 million for new hall Mango Hill State School
■ $4 million to bring back Scarborough Barge
