A Caboolture retirement village and nursing home has unveiled its plans for a multimillion expansion.
Marjealla Retirement Care Pty Ltd hopes to build a new complex with 109 independent living units at 378 King St, adjacent to the existing nursing home and retirement village run by Sunnymeade Aged Care.
The application states this new development would also be run by Sunnymeade and would link directly to the existing facilities.
“The very successful owners of Sunnymeade Aged Care will also be running the proposed Retirement Facility,” the application states.
“The proposed apartments and villas may also be serviced if residents require some support with health care and daily living needs.”
If approved this new development will include 23 single-storey villas and 86 units spread across three multistorey buildings.
Residents will have access to a library, gym, barbecue area, green spaces and a lake.
It is not the first time the developer has launched grand plans for this site.
In 2016 Moreton Bay Regional Council approved an application for an institutional residence with 58 units.
No work was ever started and the approval expired on January 31.
The report states the developer’s aim is to produce a “high-end independent retirement facility”.
They are not the only developer with plans for King St either.
There are plans for new office buildings, a new medical hub and residential units and the new police watchouse
Moreton Bay Regional Council is yet to make a decision on the application.
