Plan for a 48 unit complex, cafe and medical centre at Caboolture

Two vacant sites north of Brisbane could be transformed into a swish looking multistorey unit complex, cafe and medical centre.

There are plans to build 48 units, a medical centre, cafe and laundromat on two vacant blocks north of Brisbane.

The site at 126 and 128 King St, Caboolture, has sat vacant for years, with multiple unit complexes being approved in the past but no work ever starting.

If approved by Moreton Bay Regional Council, this new development is proposed to include 22, two-storey three-bedroom townhouses, a three storey unit building with eight units across the second and third floors and a cafe, medical centre and laundromat on the ground level.

It is proposed to be built in four stages, with the townhouses being stage 1 and the multistorey unit complex stage two.

The development application was lodged by Planvista PTY LTD, but the site is owned by King St Haven Limited.

It is a registered charity, also known as Family Haven.

According to registered charity details listed online Family Haven is dedicated to providing housing and assistance to homeless people.

King St Haven Limited purchased the site last year for $780,000.

The planning report submitted to council on November 23, does not detail if this development will be used to assist homeless people.

Moreton Bay Regional Council is yet to make a decision on the application.
