The heartbroken younger sisters of popular Sunshine Coast man James Ciseau have paid a beautiful tribute to their “brother bear and protector” who died after a tragic head-on crash at Beerwah.

The popular pool builder, 36, has been remembered by loved ones for his “heart of gold”, his “jovial” nature and for how he chose to live a life of happiness.

The Woombye father-of-two and former Bride and Prejudice star passed away after a crash at the intersection of Roys Rd and Dianella Rd, Beerwah about 4pm Monday, November 29.

His sisters Lauren and Jacinta Ciseau were supported by family on Tuesday morning and gathered to share their fondest memories of Mr Ciseau.

Lauren, 33, described Mr Ciseau as her “brother bear” and a “protector” who possessed a “heart of gold”.

The trio grew up with the closest of bonds.

She said he had the rare ability to strike up a relationship with just about anyone.

“James was loved by anyone he met, he’d walk into a room and would make it brighter, like a ray of sunshine,” she said.

“He had so much energy and constantly wanted to be around people.

“His favourite word to describe himself was jovial.”

Jacinta, 34, said her brother was the “most caring human”.

“You’d see him speaking to someone at the shops and you’d assume he knew them, then you’d ask him and they’d be strangers. He just had the time of day for anyone,” Ms Ciseau said.

“He touched so many lives.”

Family was everything to Mr Ciseau, from his doting daughters Olivia-Rose and Bella-Pearl, to the “smart arse” comments he made to his sisters and cooking for those closest to him.

“He was the most amazing father to those girls, they would look up to him so much,” Mr Ciseau’s youngest sister said.

“He was the same with his nieces and nephews, so close with the kids and as a husband.

“Family time was his all. Any spare time he had he would spend with us.”

Mourners from his far reaching circles, including Sunshine Coast football where he and his father Brian were involved, offered condolences on social media.

Mr Ciseau had been working as a pool builder and lived at Woombye with his mum Deborah and stepfather Barry up until his death.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said on Tuesday morning the cause of the “head on” crash was under investigation.

The crash shut down the intersection for several hours on Monday afternoon with photos from the scene showing the truck had left the road and debris had been scattered across the bitumen.

It comes after two young men were tragically killed last week in a crash at Buderim.

In 2019 Mr Ciseau had appeared on reality television show Bride and Prejudice where he met his wife Tori.

Mr Ciseau’s sisters said their fondest memories of their brother were the simple times.

“He was always happiest surrounded by his family,” the pair said.

“He lived for his daughters and he loved to be free and happy.”
