Romantic comedy ‘He Loves Me Not’ filming wraps in Hervey Bay

Stars of a rom-com being filmed at the Fraser Coast have spent three weeks enjoying the region’s best sights, attractions, restaurants and bars. See where they were spotted.

He Loves Me Not has wrapped after a whirlwind three weeks of filming across Hervey Bay and K'gari.

From blowing out birthday candles at the boat club and sipping champagne at Enzos to showcasing the best of K‘gari, Lincoln Lewis and Rhiannon Fish are a tourism marketing dream for the Fraser Coast.

The popular former Home and Away actors have been spotted at various local venues and landmarks filming scenes for their upcoming film He Loves Me Not, produced by Fraser Coast Films.

The pair celebrated Lewis’ birthday at the Hervey Bay Boat Club, enjoyed the Urangan Pier Markets and got a tour of the bay in the famous WhaleSong boat all while shooting the film over a whirlwind three-weeks.

Scenes for He Loves Me Not were shot on famed local landmarks including the WhaleSong Boat Cruise.

The romantic comedy follows the story of aspiring actor Holiday – played by Fish – who uses a secret love potion to win the heart of reality TV star Adam – played by Lewis.

As her deception is revealed she discovers a messy but real chance for love.

It is produced by Fraser Coast Films and directed by Tam Sainsbury, with filming wrapping this week.

He Loves Me Not to begin shooting on K’gari in October 2023

Fraser Coast Films executive director Glen Whinney said the two leading actors shared great chemistry and all involved were impressed with how well the shoot came together.

Mr Whinney said it was just the beginning for the region’s film industry and looked forward to more movies and TV series.

Lincoln Lewis with Fraser Coast Regional Council mayor George Seymour who appears as an extra in the film.

“(We are) very confident that this movie and future ones will get worldwide coverage of the Fraser Coast through streaming services,” he said.

His highly positive attitude was echoed by Fraser Coast Regional Council Mayor George Seymour.

“We have a lot of potential on the Fraser Coast for a film and television industry,” Mr Seymour said.

He Loves Me Not filmed at the Urangan Pier Markets for a weekend.

“The Fraser Coast has a range of urban and natural areas that provide the perfect setting for filming.”

Mr Seymour, who was an extra in the film, said the council would help foster creative industries so young people can pursue career ambitions in the region instead of having to move to a city.

Enzo’s by the Beach is the location of a very romantic scene during the film.

He Loves Me Not is the second of three films produced by Fraser Coast Films.

Psychological thriller The 13th Summer starring Rebecca Hewitt and Nathan Phillips is being marketed to streaming services, while comedy Santa’s Daughter is scheduled to begin shooting in January next year.
