Funeral date announced for Hervey Bay’s Maidie Page

A funeral date has been set for a much-loved daughter and sister who was killed in a horror crash which also claimed the life of a truck driver.

Maidie Page, 22, was tragically killed in a crash at the weekend.

A funeral date has been announced for a young woman killed in a horror crash at Bowenville on January 30.

Maidie Page, 22, died when the Holden she was driving collided with a truck near Oakleigh Park Road

on January 30.

The crash also claimed the life of 45-year-old Kenworth semi-trailer driver Brett Knecht

The funeral for Ms Page will be held on Friday at Hervey Bay Baptist Church at Nikenbah from 11am.

In the aftermath of the crash, tributes flowed as Ms Page’s family shared their shock and grief at the loss of their beloved sister, cousin and friend.

“As some of you know, yesterday we lost our big sister Maidie Page due to an accident,” a post from Abina Page read.

She said her sister had always had her back.

“You were always there for me and I could always rely on you for anything,” she wrote.

“No matter what you always supported me, guided me and you always said you were proud of me.

“You took care of us when no one else would.”

Heartbreakingly, Ms Page shared that she had tried to call her sister to see when she was coming home.

“You never answered,” she wrote.

“I’ll never get to talk to you again, I’ll never get to see you.

“I’m so broken.

“I’m going to miss you so much.”
