Crash victim Craig Strange to be farewelled at funeral in Maryborough

A beloved husband and father, who died in a horror crash earlier this month, will be farewelled at funeral in Maryborough next week

A funeral will be held next week for a popular council worker, husband and father of three, who was tragically killed in a crash at Bunya Creek.

Maryborough’s Craig Strange, 52, was died after a collision with a truck on Booral Road.

In the aftermath of the crash on November 9, ‘Strangey’, as he was known to those close to him, was remembered as someone who was always smiling.

Fraser Coast council CEO Ken Diehm said Mr Strange would be missed by his teammates.

“Craig was a valuable Member of our Council team, he had a positive attitude and would do anything for anybody,” he said.

“While he worked at council for only two years, he was very well liked and respected by his immediate teammates in the Arbor Culture section, Parks Department and across the organisation.

“Craig was always smiling, always happy and generally a really good bloke.”

Investigations into the crash are ongoing.

In the funeral announcement, Mr Strange was remembered as the cherished husband of Ellen, adored father of Sara, Isaac and Jacob, dearly loved son of Kevin and Shirley, loved brother and brother-in-law of Kylie and Craig and uncle to Tahlia.

The funeral will be held at Maryborough Life Church at 68 Gayndah Road on Monday from 1pm.

For those who can’t attend, the service will be shown via live stream here.
